Flight 515.

The campus monolith.

At the center of the NCSSM campus stands a large concrete gnomon. It’s also variously called, among other names, the sundial, the monument, or (my favorite) the monolith. I took this picture about 7:30 on an overcast morning before heading off to an Academic Team competition, looking straight up from the monolith’s center underneath the three slabs that make up the sculpture.

Dateline.
7 October 2006.
